OId video from Haryana shared as the visuals of Muslims dancing to a song on Narendra Modi in Jammu and Kashmir

A video is being shared on social media claiming it is the visuals of Muslims dancing to a song on Narendra Modi in Jammu and Kashmir. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.  

Claim: Video of Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir dancing to a song on Narendra Modi.

Fact: The video shared in the post shows Muslims dancing to Rocky Mittal’s performance at a BJP political campaign meeting held in 2019, in Nuh, Haryana. The video shared in the post is old and not from Jammu and Kashmir. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

On reverse image search of the screenshots of the video, a video showing similar visuals was found published by a Facebook page in March 2019. This user mentioned it is the visuals of Muslims dancing to Rocky Mittal’s performance of “Modi Aayengi Danke ki Chot Par” song. Rocky Mittal is a star campaigner for the BJP in Haryana who has sung a lot of songs about PM Narendra Modi and about the BJP.

On searching for further sources, we found another Facebook post sharing a video showing similar visuals as shared in the post in 2019. This Facebook user mentioned that the video was taken at a BJP political campaign meeting held in Punhana town in the Nuh district of Haryana. Additionally, one could see the Hindi text “Punhana” along with images of Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on a banner placed on the stage.

Rocky Mittal shared the same video on his YouTube channel on 18 March 2019, by mentioning the name of “MLA Rahish Khan” in the description. Rahis Khan was a former MLA from Punhana constituency in Haryana. Rahis Khan was elected as an Independent MLA from Punhana in the 2014 elections and subsequently, extended his support to BJP and held the position of Minister of State of Haryana.

Rahish Khan shared the pictures from this political campaign meeting on 16 March 2019. Rahish Khan again contested as an independent candidate and was defeated by Congress candidate Mohammad Ilyas in the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the video shared in the post is old and not from Jammu and Kashmir.

To sum it up,  an old video from Haryana is shared as the visuals of Muslims dancing to a song on Narendra Modi song in Jammu and Kashmir.
