A video is being circulated on social media claiming it as the visuals of a politician explaining the failure of the PM Ujjwal Yojana scheme in the state of Uttar Pradesh. This video shows visuals of a family cooking food using wood rather than gas cylinder. The politician in the video accuses the Narendra Modi government of increasing gas cylinder price above 1000 rupees and making it unaffordable. This post claims that the video was shot in Lucknow district in Uttar Pradesh. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of a politician revealing the failure of PM Ujjwal Yojana scheme in Uttar Pradesh.

Fact: The video shared in the post shows former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat’s daughter and All India Mahila Congress General Secretary Anupama Rawat explaining that the PM Ujwala Yojana scheme is a failure in Uttarakhand. The video has nothing to do with Uttar Pradesh. Recently, Anupama Rawat filed her nomination as the Congress candidate for the Haridwar Rural Assembly seat. This video was shot during Anupama Rawat’s campaign in a village near Haridwar. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.

On reverse image search of the screenshots in the video, a video with similar visuals was found on the Facebook page of All India Mahila Congress General Secretary Anupama Rawat. On 30 January 2022, Anupama Rawat shared this video by accusing the Narendra Modi Government of increasing gas cylinder price to 1000 rupees.
