A post is being shared on social media claiming that 8 UAE aircrafts carrying military aid and equipment have landed at different airports in Israel over the past few days. The post shared a screenshot of a tweet made by an ‘X’ user and alleges that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is providing military aid to Israel during its ongoing war with Palestine. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: UAE is offering military aid to Israel during its ongoing war with Palestine.

Fact: The post shared information from an old news report on the UAE dispatching eight C-17 Globemaster heavy transport aircraft to Israel as part of the defence contracts signed between the two nations.  Lately, UAE condemned Israel’s ground operations in the Palestinian Gaza Strip and reportedly called for the conflict to be de-escalated. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

When we searched to check whether the UAE had sent any military aircraft to Israel during its ongoing conflict with Palestine, we could not find any news report confirming any such recent military assistance by the UAE to Israel. A few news sites recently published articles reporting that UAE and Saudi Arabia are planning to continue their diplomatic ties with Israel, despite surging opposition in the Arab and Muslim world to Israel’s military action in the Gaza Strip.

Lately, the UAE condemned Israel’s ground operations in the Palestinian Gaza Strip and highlighted the risk of a regional spillover from the Israel-Hamas war. UAE warned that the Islamist movements during the Israel-Palestine conflict can be a potential threat to the Middle East stability and reportedly called for the conflict to be de-escalated. However, there are no news reports on the UAE offering any latest military aid to Israel in the context of its ongoing war with Palestine.

When we searched for further details, we found that the post shared information from a 2022 news report on the UAE dispatching eight C-17 Globemaster heavy transport aircraft to Israel as part of the defence contracts signed between the two nations.

The photo shared in the post was taken during Israel President Isaac Herzog’s visit to UAE in January 2022. Several news sites published the photo with the description, “President Isaac Herzog is received by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022.

To sum it up, the UAE is not offering any military aid to Israel in its ongoing war with Palestine.
