Few purported online websites (here, here) of ‘Ramraj Cotton’ is conducting a competition claiming that ‘Ramraj Cotton’ has offered 20,000 rupees to the winner. The post even claims that it is a Christmas gift from ‘Ramraj Cotton’. Factly received a query on its WhatsApp tip-line number (+91 9247052470) to check the authenticity of the website.

Fact: This website conducting a competition with the name of ‘Ramraj Cotton’ is a fraudulent one. Factly had communicated with Ramraj Cotton about the website offering 20,000 rupees as a Christmas gift in the name of ‘Ramraj Cotton’; they have confirmed that it is ‘fake’. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
When we searched to check whether ‘Ramraj Cotton’ is conducting any competition to gift 20,000 rupees, we could not find details of any such competition on the official website of ‘Ramraj Cotton’ (here and here). Even the Facebook and Twitter accounts of Ramraj Cotton do not mention any competition that gifts 20,000 rupees. In one of the Facebook posts, Ramraj Cotton mentioned that Christmas can be celebrated with their Gift vouchers; but one needs to pay to get those gift vouchers and there is no competition mentioned there. According to the official website of Ramraj Cotton, Ramraj cotton-setup in 1983-is one of India’s largest Manufacturer, Supplier, and Exporter of Cotton, Silk, and Linen Shirts, and Dhotis and Inner wears for Men and Kids.
When we searched for the details of the online website that is conducting a competition for gifting 20,000 rupees, we found the details of that website on the ‘Whois.com’ website. This online website with the domain name ‘fepkpg.tw’ was registered in China. This website has nothing to do with ‘Ramraj Cotton’.
Factly had communicated with Ramraj Cotton about the website offering 20,000 rupees as a Christmas gift in the name of ‘Ramraj Cotton’; they have confirmed that it is ‘fake’. As the fake websites went viral, Ramraj Cotton has issued a clarification on their official website stating that appropriate lead action will be taken against them and urged their customers to only follow their official website (https://www.ramrajcotton.in ) for any offers,
To sum it up, this purported ‘Ramraj Cotton’ website conducting a competition for gifting 20,000 rupees is a fraudulent one.
