A video accompanied by a post is being widely shared on social media claiming that the visuals are of a Hindu procession in front of an Islamic structure from Amravati, Maharashtra. Let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of Hindu procession in front of an Islamic structure in Amravati, Maharashtra.

Fact: The video is from a Ram Navami procession in Karnataka, not from Amravati in Maharashtra. The visuals are from the Ram Navami procession in 2019 where Muslims were seen distributing juice to devotees of Lord Ram. On 13 November 2021, parts of Amravati in Maharashtra were marked by violence after marches held by Muslims and Hindus in relation to the Tripura violence that happened recently, but these visuals are not related to these incidents. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video, similar visuals (that of the Islamic structure) are found in a YouTube video. According to the YouTube video, the visuals are from a Ram Navami Utsav in Gulbarga in Karnataka.

Taking the clue that the Islamic structure could be from Gulbarga in Karnataka, the Islamic structure was found from google search with relevant keywords. The picture of a dargah in Gulbarga (taken from Google Maps) is like the Islamic structure seen in the video.

The visuals are from the Ram Navami procession carried out annually in Kalaburagi. Gulbarga was known as ‘Kalburagi’ in former days which means stony land in Kannada. However, the district is once again known as ‘Kalaburagi’. Pictures of the procession can be seen in an ANI tweet. “Muslims were seen distributing juice to the devotees of Lord Ram during the procession.

The person with his mobile phone seen in the viral video can also be seen in one of the pictures in the ANI tweet where it talks about the Ram Navami procession. A man sitting right behind the person may be the one who had taken the video.

The visuals of the Ram Navami procession, including the person with the mobile can be seen in this YouTube video. The YouTube video uploaded on 13 April 2019 is of the Ram Navami Shobha yatra in Kalaburagi.

On 13 November 2021, parts of Amravati in Maharashtra were marked by violence after marches held by Muslims and Hindus in relation to the Tripura violence that happened recently, but this video shared in the post is not related to these incidents
