A message claiming that the World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking kidney donors from all blood groups is making rounds on social media. The message also mentions that each donor will get 14 crore rupees. But, when FACTLY has contacted a representative of the World Health Organization, we were informed that the message is fake. It was found that similar posts claiming that WHO is seeking kidney donors is making rounds on Facebook since 2019. Also, WHO passed a resolution in 2004 against the sale of organs & organ trafficking.
