A video of a rally displaying green flags is circulating on social media (here, here, and here) alleging that Muslims rallied with Pakistani flags near the secretariat in Hyderabad, Telangana. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Archived post can be seen here.

Claim: Muslims rallied with Pakistani flags near secretariat in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Fact: The rally took place on the Tank bund in Hyderabad on Milad-un-Nabi. People in the video are holding religious flags, not Pakistani flags. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.

Upon conducting a reverse image search using the keyframes from the video, we discovered that Hyderabad Deccan News had uploaded the same video on their YouTube channel on 2 October 2023. The description stated that the video depicts a bike rally held at Tank bund in Hyderabad on Milad-un-Nabi.

Further investigation revealed that processions were conducted on this festival day under police supervision, featuring similar flags at different locations across Hyderabad (here and here). Upon closer examination, it was found that the flags carried by the youth were religious, not of Pakistan.

The distinction between the flag of Pakistan and the religious flag utilized in the Milad-un-Nabi procession can be seen below. Factly has previously addressed such claims which can be viewed here, here, and here.

To sum up, an old video showing a Milad-un-Nabi rally with religious flags in Hyderabad is being shared as Muslims carrying Pakistani flags.
