A video going viral on social media (here, and here) shows the demolition of a green building resembling a mosque. The video is being shared with the claim that a mosque was demolished in Uttarakhand. Let’s verify the claim made in the post through this article.

The archived post can be found here.

Claim: Video shows the demolition of a green building resembling a mosque in Uttarakhand.

Fact: The viral video shows the demolition of a structure at Hibisk Fantasy Puncak in Indonesia. The demolition was ordered by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi as part of an operation to remove unlicensed buildings and restore forest function. Reports confirm that the site was allegedly linked to flash floods in Bogor, West Java. The video has no connection to Uttarakhand. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to the same video posted on TikTok. The caption read: Pembongkaran hari ke-2 tempat wisata Hibisc Puncak Bogor, which translates to Day 2 of demolition at Hibisc tourist spot in Puncak, Bogor. This building is not a mosque but an Indian-style structure in a fantasy park. Further searches confirmed that Hibisc Puncak Bogor is in Indonesia.

Taking clues from the TikTok post, we used relevant keywords and found another video of the same event. This video, uploaded on 10 March 2025 on the YouTube channel New Farsi Official, also confirmed the location as Hibisk Fantasy Puncak in Indonesia.

We found multiple reports (here, here, and here) indicating that the incident occurred at Hibiscus Fantasy Puncak, where West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi ordered the demolition of unlicensed buildings. The operation aimed to remove 25 structures lacking permits, including those in restricted zones, before Eid.

As part of efforts to restore forest function and prevent flooding, Indonesian politician and environmental advocate Kang Dedi Mulyadi led the demolition on 06 March 2025. The site was allegedly linked to flash floods in Bogor, West Java. Key officials, including Environment Minister Hanif Faisol, participated in the operation. Mulyadi stated that the development had disrupted the area’s natural structure, contributing to the floods. Locals affected by the disaster supported the demolition and assisted in the process.

Additionally, we found the official Instagram page of Hibisk Fantasy Puncak featured a video on 23 January 2025, showing the same building seen in the viral video.

To sum up, the viral video does not show a building resembling a mosque being demolished in Uttarakhand but a structure being demolished at Hibisk Fantasy Puncak in Indonesia as part of an environmental initiative.
