A video showing a large crowd on a road is currently gaining traction on social media. The video is reportedly from Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Nashik, which took place on 14 March 2024. In this fact-checking article, we will verify the authenticity of this claim.

 Fact: The video in question is from 2022, taken during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Dausa, Rajasthan. Therefore, the claim made in the post is Misleading.

Our fact-checking process started with a reverse image search of some keyframes from the viral video. This led us to a longer version of the same video posted on the Indian National Congress party’s former X and Facebook handles in 2022.

According to the caption of that video, which we also found on the Indian National Congress party’s Facebook page, the video was shot in Dausa, Rajasthan, during the 100-day celebration of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Further research unearthed news reports about this event, which said that more than one lakh people attended it.

This evidence makes it clear that an old video has been shared as if it were a crowd gathered in Nashik for the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on 14 March 2024. There is a YouTube video available on Rahul Gandhi’s official channel from the Nashik Yatra, which shows a large crowd in attendance.
