As previously noted, the viral video shows Prime Minister Modi being welcomed by his Australian counterpart, Anthony Albanese. However, there are no reports indicating that Anthony Albanese attended the recent G7 summit, making it highly unlikely that the video is from that event.
A further search using relevant keywords led us to multiple news reports that broadcast visuals similar to those in the viral video, showing Anthony Albanese welcoming Modi from his car and walking into a stadium (here, here & here). These visuals are similar to the ones broadcast on the screens in the stadium, as shown in the viral video. According to these reports, the footage is from the Qudos Bank Arena, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a meeting with the Indian diaspora during his three-day visit to Australia on 23 May 2023.
Several news agencies have covered the meeting (here & here), with Prime Minister Modi sharing visuals of himself entering the stadium alongside his Australian counterpart. Comparing the viral footage with these reports confirms that the viral video is from Modi’s visit to Australia in 2023.
