A video going viral on social media (here, here, and here) shows a caged tiger grabbing a child’s shirt while the child screams for help, pleading with the tiger to let go. The video is being shared with claims that it is from India. Let’s verify the truth behind the video in this article.

Claim: The video shows a caged tiger in India grabbing a child’s shirt while the child pleads for release.

Fact: The viral video of a caged tiger grabbing a child’s shirt was uploaded by Lahore-based digital creator Nouman Hassan, known for sharing content featuring tigers and lions. Several videos on his profile show the same child interacting with tigers. News reports confirm that Hassan, a Lahore-based influencer, has a private collection of exotic animals and also acquired lions through auctions. The video is unrelated to India. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

A reverse image search of the keyframes from the viral video led us to a YouTube video titled “Tiger Attack on Little Kid  | Nouman Hassan”, uploaded on 08 February 2025, on the channel named Nouman Hassan.

We found a link to his Facebook profile in the “About” section. The “Intro” section of his Facebook page revealed that he is a digital creator and a resident of Lahore, Pakistan.

Upon reviewing Nouman’s social media accounts, we found multiple videos (here and here) featuring the same child from the viral clip interacting with tigers. In one video, the child holds a tiger by its chain, with no cage separating them. Suddenly, the tiger grabs the child’s shoe. The child laughs, playfully taps the tiger’s face, and remarks, “If it gets damaged, my mother will scold me.” In another video, the child is seen confidently riding the tiger and playing with it.

In one of his YouTube video descriptions, Nouman Hassan expressed his passion for tigers and his commitment to showcasing their gentle nature. He stated that, beyond being fierce hunters, these wild cats have a vulnerable side that deserves protection and love. His goal is to expand his “tiger family” while entertaining his YouTube audience with engaging content. He expressed gratitude to his supporters, acknowledging that their love and support contribute to his growth and mean a lot to him and his tiger family.

We found multiple media reports about this Lahore based influencer Nouman Hassan (here, here, here, and here), known for sharing videos of his private collection of exotic animals, including tigers, snakes, crocodiles, and lions. He acquired lions through an auction by Lahore Safari Zoo in August 2022.

Pakistan’s Punjab cabinet recently introduced regulations allowing private ownership of big cats, provided owners obtain a wildlife department license, costing Rs. 50,000 per animal.

We have reached out to Nouman Hassan for more details about the video and this article will be updated once he responds.

To sum up, a video by a Pakistani digital creator showing a caged tiger grabbing a child’s shirt is falsely shared as that from India.
