A video is being shared on social media claiming it to be a wrestling video of Madhya Pradesh’s Bageshwar Dham temple head Dhirendra Krishna Shastri. This post claims it as the visuals of Dhirendra Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, defeating a wrestler in the wrestling arena. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Wresting video of godman Bageshwar Dham Sarkar.

Fact: The skinny wrestler who was seen defeating his opponent in the video is Pakistan’s Malakhra or Malakhro sportsman Ghullam Hussain Pathan. The video has nothing to do with Bageshwar Dham Sarkar. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

On reverse image search of the screenshots of the video, a video with similar visuals was found published by the Pakistan-based ‘Sachal TV’ news channel on 06 November 2020. This news channel published the video with the title, “New Sindhi malakhra Ghullam Hussain Pathan”. Malakhra or Malakhro is an ancient Sindhi wrestling sport practised mostly in the Sindh province of Pakistan.

Also, on comparing the pictures of the wrestler seen in the video and of Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, it can be noticed that the wrestler seen in the video is not Bageshwar Dham Sarkar.

When we searched for further sources, we found similar wrestling videos on the YouTube and Facebook handles of Pakistani wrestler Ghullam Hussain Pathan. Ghullam Hussain Pathan is a famous Malakhra sportsman from Sindh province in Pakistan. A few interview videos of Ghullam Hussain Pathan can be seen here and here.

To sum it up, a video of a Pakistan wrestler is being shared as a wrestling video of Bageshwar Dham Sarkar.
