A video is being shared on social media claiming it is the visuals of Ganesh Utsav celebrations in Tamil Nadu. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Fact: The video shared in the post shows the celebrations during the arrival of Chinchpokli Chintamani Ganapati in Mumbai. The video has nothing to do with Tamil Nadu. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

On observing the video carefully, one could see the text “You are at Chintamani Aagman” and ‘@rohiitt0.7’ at the bottom middle of the video. Many users in the comment section mentioned that the video shows the arrival of Chintamani Ganpati in Mumbai.

When searched for further details of the video using this information, we found the same video published on the Instagram account of Rohit Mali (user_id: ‘@rohiitt0.7’). Rohit Mali, a cinematographer and artist from Mumbai, posted this video on 09 September 2023, with the description, “Chinchpoklicha Chintamani 2023”.

The Ganesh pandal set up by the Chinchpokli Sarvjanik Utsav Mandal in the Chinchpokli area of Mumbai is famously called ‘Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani’. Lately, many Facebook users and news sites published videos showing the arrival of Chinchpokli Chintamani Ganpati in Mumbai.

Speaking to Aaj Tak, Rohit Mali confirmed that the video was shot by him on 09 September 2023 during the arrival of Chintamani Ganpati near the Lal Baugh area in Mumbai. More photos and videos taken during the arrival of Chinchpokli Chintamani Ganpati can be seen here and here. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the video shared in the post is from Mumbai city of Maharashtra, not from Tamil Nadu as mentioned in the post.

To sum it up, a video from Mumbai was shared as the visuals of Ganesh Utsav celebrations in Tamil Nadu.
