Meanwhile, a few videos are going viral on social media (here, and here), one shows a woman demonstrating her skills with a stick and a sword, while another features a woman dancing to a Bollywood song. These videos are being shared with claims that they are old clips of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Let’s verify the claims made in the posts through this article.
Claim: Old videos of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Fact: The viral videos claiming to show Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta feature two different individuals. The first video shows Payal Jadhav, an artist who posted the clip as a tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The second video features Sangeeta Mishra, a dancer who frequently shares similar performances. Both the videos are unrelated to Rekha Gupta. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to the original video (archived), which was uploaded on 19 February 2025 on the Instagram account Payal Jadhav (@i_mpayal). The description of the post revealed that it was a tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s great deeds. She mentioned that the video was her small effort inspired by the great Maharaja, Pratap Purandar, who was an expert in weaponry.
Upon reviewing her profile, we found that Payal Jadhav is an artist. Her profile includes photos and videos from her films and stage performances (here, here, and here).
A comparison between the woman in the viral video (Payal Jadhav) and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta confirms that they are not the same person.
According to news reports, Rekha Gupta has a background in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). She served as the President of the Delhi University Students’ Union from the BJP-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in 1996-97. She later held three terms as a Municipal Councillor and won an MLA seat once. On 20 February 2025, she took oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi.

Upon reviewing her profile, we found that Sangeeta is a dancer who describes herself as a dance enthusiast. She frequently shares similar dance videos (here, here, and here), with several others available on her account. Additionally, we came across Sangeeta Mishra’s YouTube channel, where she uploaded similar dance performance videos.

Upon reviewing her Instagram handle, we found links to her Facebook page. The intro section of her Facebook profile states that she is a content creator. She frequently shares similar dance videos (here, here, and here), with many more available on her account. Additionally, we found Meera’s YouTube channel, where she has uploaded similar dance performance videos.
