Fact: The video shows an incident that took place in Haryana’s Faridabad. The video shows teachers thrashing a student for allegedly throwing flowers at female students during the two-day Geeta Jayanthi celebrations organized in Faridabad. Ayodhya Police through a tweet clarified that the video is from Faridabad, not from Ayodhya. The video has nothing to do with the officials of Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
On reverse image search of the screenshots of the video, similar visuals were found in a video published by ‘News 24’ on 24 December 2023. The news channel reported it as the visuals of teachers brutally thrashing a student during Geeta Jayanthi celebrations in Faridabad, Haryana.
When we searched for further sources using relevant keywords, we found that several news agencies reported about the incident. They can be seen here, here, and here. As per the reports, teachers thrashed a high-school student for allegedly throwing flowers at female students during the two-day Geeta Jayanthi celebrations organized in Faridabad.
According to the article by Dainik Bhaskar, the incident took place on 22 December 2023 and an FIR was filed against teachers for assaulting the boy. The case was filed at the Faridabad Central police station, but the FIR was still not uploaded online on the Haryana Police website. We will update the article once the FIR becomes available online on the Haryana Police website. However, not a single news report identified the assaulted boy as a Dalit.
On the other hand, the Ayodhya Police published a tweet clarifying that the viral video is from Haryana’s Faridabad, not from Ayodhya. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the video shared in the post had nothing to do with the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
