This video shows Shashi Tharoor dancing at an election campaign in Kerala, not at Congress Party’s Chintan Shivir

A video through a post is being widely shared on social media claiming that Shashi Tharoor was dancing at the Congress Party’s Chintan Shivir in Udaipur. Let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of Shashi Tharoor dancing at Congress Party’s Chintan Shivir in Udaipur.

Fact: In the video, Shashi Tharoor was dancing with women Congress workers as part of the Thrikkakkara by-poll election rally for the UDF candidate Uma Thomas in Kerala. The election campaign song used while dancing was a parody of the song Parudeesa from the movie Bheeshma Parvam. The video is not related to Congress Party’s Chintan Shivir (brainstorming camp) organised recently in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When a reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video, a similar video of Shashi Tharoor dancing was found on YouTube. According to the YouTube video report, Shashi Tharoor was dancing with women Congress workers during a campaign rally in Kerala. The election campaign song used was a parody of the song Parudeesa from the movie Bheeshma Parvam. The audio in the YouTube video was different from that in the viral video.

On further search on Google with relevant keywords, the same video was found on the official Twitter handle of Shashi Tharoor; tagging Mahila Congress and Kerala Congress. Shashi Tharoor was dancing with women Congress workers as part of the Thrikkakkara by-poll election rally for the UDF candidate Uma Thomas. Congress Party organised Chintan Shivir (brainstorming camp) in Udaipur, Rajasthan recently. This viral video of Shashi Tharoor dancing is not from that camp in Rajasthan.
