A video of people getting frightened and running away by seeing a wheelchair moving by itself is being widely shared on social media platforms claiming that it is God’s miracle. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Fact: This video is uploaded on a Pakistan based YouTube channel “syedsadam90” on 27 July 2022. This channel features several ghost prank videos which are apparently scripted. Several other funny videos and short films shot in the same hospital corridor are also available in his channel featuring the same group of people. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
First, we ran a reverse image search using the keyframes extracted from the viral video. This led us to the original video which was uploaded on a Pakistan based YouTube channel ‘syedsadam90’ on 27 July 2022. The title of this video is ‘Real Ghost caught by cctv camera’
We then checked the other videos available on this channel and found that the same people were featured in other videos as well. Even the location of most of these videos is same as the viral video. They can be seen here, here and here.
This channel also contains the dub smashes, short films and scripted videos featuring the same group of people. Some of them can be seen here and here. We also found the TikTok account of this channel where the same group of people can be seen doing funny TikTok videos in the same hospital where the CCTV camera caught “ghosts” several times.
Similar incidents of wheelchairs moving by themselves have gone viral previously. In most cases, the reason could be the wind or secretly pulling them through strings. And, in some cases, remote controlled wheelchairs are also used to prank people.
To sum it up, the video of a wheelchair moving by itself is part of a scripted video.
