Claim: Video of Americans reciting ‘Shri Rudram Stotram’ at the White House in America.
Fact: The video is of Rudram 11 event organised by the European Vedic Union in Zagreb, Croatia in 2018. No such event took place at the White House in America. Hence, the claim made in the post is Misleading.
On conducting a reverse image search using the keyframes of the video, we found that the event took place in Croatia in 2018 (here and here). The description of the YouTube video mentioned it as ‘Rudram and Chamakam performed by 400+ Europeans in Croatia. The European Veda association would be performing this across many places in Europe for world peace.’
Further investigation using relevant keywords revealed that the event was organised by a network called Veda Union. From the website, it was discovered that the Union seeks to unite all European Vedic chanting groups, and this event, Rudram 11 was one such activity held in Zagreb, Croatia in 2018. Besides, the founders of the Union, Vojko Kercan and Branimir Goanan are seen performing in the viral video. Pictures from the event can be seen here.
