A video clip of a shark pulling down a helicopter is doing the rounds on social media claiming that ‘National Geographic channel has paid 1 million dollars for this rare video’. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: National Geographic channel has paid 1 million dollars for this rare video of shark pulling down a helicopter.

Fact: The video is part of a 2017 movie ‘5-Headed Shark Attack’, it is not of a real incident. Also, there are no reports of National Geographic channel paying 1 million dollars for this filmed video. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When we subjected the screenshots of the video to reverse image search technique, articles of several film review websites were obtained in the search results. Those articles were about a movie ‘5-Headed Shark Attack’ and they can be seen here and here. Further information about the movie  ‘5-Headed Shark Attack’ can be read on ‘IMDB’ (Internet Movie Database) website

When we watched the trailer of the movie (5-Headed Shark Attack), the part seen in the posted video clip can be seen after 1:05 minutes in the trailer. So the video clip is part of a movie ‘5-Headed Shark Attack’.  

When we checked for information if National Geographic channel has paid 1 million dollars for this filmed video, no reports confirming the same were found.  

To sum it up, movie clip of a shark pulling down a helicopter is being shared as a rare video for which National Geographic channel has paid 1 million dollars.
