Fact: According to the ECI, there are only 15 seats wherein the winning margin is below 1000 votes in the 2022 UP Assembly elections. Even in these 15 seats, it was either the SP alliance candidate or the BJP candidate who trailed behind. Congress party stood in second position only in four seats and even the margin of loss in these seats is way more than what claimed in the viral post. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
In the recently announced 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly general election results, BJP stood as the single largest party with 255 seats, followed by the Samajwadi Party with 111 seats. The Indian National Congress has bagged only two seats.
Further, as per the Election Commission of India, there are only 15 assembly seats wherein the winning margin is below 1000 votes and not 167 seats as claimed in the viral post. And none of these 15 trailing candidates represent the Congress party. It is either the SP alliance candidate or the BJP candidate who stood second in these seats.
