A photo of a helicopter carrying a container is being shared widely on social media with a claim that it shows heavy airlifting of military hardware towards the Line of Actual Control (LAC). It is being shared in the context of recent clashes between the two sides (India and China) at the Galwan Valley in Ladakh. But, FACTLY has found that the photo was taken in 2013 and it is neither related to India nor China. The same photo can found on the ‘U.S. Department of Defense’ website with the following description – ‘A U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook helicopter carries a sling-loaded shipping container during retrograde operations and base closures in the Wardak province of Afghanistan on Oct. 26, 2013. The Chinook is assigned to the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade’. Also, the photo can be found on the ‘Alamy’ website with a similar description.
