A video is being shared on social media claiming it as visuals of an army jawan hitting back a police constable who misbehaved with him. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of an army jawan hitting back a police constable for misbehaving with him.

Fact: The video shared in the post is a scripted one. The man who is seen slamming a policeman in the video is Shanky Singh, a professional wrestler who is working now in WWE. Shanky Singh has nothing to do with the Indian Army. The other two people dressed in Police uniforms were also professional wrestlers working in the Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) in India. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On reverse image search of the screenshots in the video, a video with similar visuals was found published by the Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) YouTube channel on 29 March 2017. CWE published this video with a description, “CWE Wrestler Shanky Singh Chokeslam to Police Constable Pandey”.

Dalip Singh, a video creator employed in CWE published the same video on his Facebook page saying- “#CWE Shanky Singh is happy to tell his friend Rajan about his WWE Dubai Tryout. Suddenly, Police Constable Pandey try to stop him and Constable started hitting him. #ShankySingh in anger gave Constable Pandey with a BIG CHOKESLAM”. Dalip Singh published multiple other videos showing the visuals of the same policemen having a fight with wrestlers. A few such videos can be seen here, here and here. Shanky Singh is a professional wrestler who is now with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Shanky Singh has nothing to do with the Indian army.

Speaking to the ‘News Checker’, Singham Dubey said, “This video is scripted and made only for the purpose of creating awareness among the society. The wrestler seen in the video is Shanky Singh and he has nothing to do with the Indian army. Apart from this, all the policemen seen in the video were our wrestling mates and keep making scripted videos with us from time to time. None of them is an actual cop”.

To sum it up, a scripted video is falsely being shared as visuals of an army jawan hitting back a police constable.
