Photoshopped SBI card is falsely shared as liquor card to be launched by Andhra Pradesh government

A post with a photo is circulating on social media with a claim that the card shown in the photo is a 5000-rupees worth liquor card from Andhra Pradesh (AP) government. Let’s try to analyze the claim made in the post.

Fact: Photo shared as a liquor card from Andhra Pradesh government is photoshopped version of a State Bank of India (SBI) card. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When the photo in the post was searched using Google reverse image technique, a similar photo was found in a 2017 ‘Business Today’ article. From the article, it is understood that the photo is that of a State Bank of India (SBI) card. This SBI card was photoshopped and is being falsely shared as a liquor card from the Andhra Pradesh government.

Also, in an article published by ‘Sakshi’ newspaper on December 8, 2019, the MD of Andhra Pradesh State Beverage Corporation Limited (APSBCL), Vasudeva Reddy has clarified that there is no truth in the information that AP government is introducing liquor cards.
