A post accompanying a video of a mob attack is doing rounds on social media with the claim that farmers in Haryana attacked a BJP leader in the wake of the recently passed farm bills. Through this article let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Fact: According to a news report, the video is of an attack on Kurukshetra’s MP Raj Kumar Saini back in 2016 by four youngsters accusing him of fanning communal tensions in Haryana. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Reverse image search of the screenshots of the video led us to a 2016 news video which carried the same visuals as in the viral video. The description of the video reads “Video of inkling on MP Saini, named- Surgical Strike By Jaat Boys”. With this, we can conclude that the video is on the internet for at least three years now.
Taking a cue from the video, google search with the keyword ‘ink attack on MP Saini’ led us to a few news articles which reported the incident. According to one such article, four youngsters attacked Kurukshetra’s MP Raj Kumar Saini accusing him of fanning communal tensions in Haryana.
