A video is being circulated as visuals of BJP workers consuming alcohol during the ‘Parivarthan Yatra,’ which was inaugurated in September 2023 across the states of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. However, as explained below, the video is being circulated on the internet since 2021 and does not depict any incidents linked to the current Parivarthan Yatra.

A video through a post is being widely shared on social media claiming that the visuals of alcohol distribution by BJP workers were taken recently from Telangana. Let us fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: Recent video of alcohol distribution by BJP workers in Telangana.
Fact: The video is old and is not related to the recent National Executive Meeting of BJP held in Telangana. The video was widely shared by Congress handles in December 2021, accusing the BJP of distributing alcohol. The video was shared by Srinivas BV, National President of Indian Youth Congress who alleged that BJP had served alcohol to attract crowd to a rally by JP Nadda in Haridwar. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
When a reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video, a video with similar visuals was found in a tweet published on 20 December 2021. Hence, the video is old and is not related to the recent National Executive Meeting of BJP in Telangana. Clearly, the audio in the viral video is also different from the older video.
The video was shared by Srinivas BV, National President of Indian Youth Congress. Regarding the same video, he later alleged that BJP had served alcohol to attract crowd to a rally by JP Nadda in Haridwar. The video was widely shared by Congress supporters in December 2021 itself, so the video is clearly old.
To sum it up, old video is being shared as a recent video of alcohol distribution at National Executive Meeting of BJP held in Telangana.
Update (10 December 2022)
The same video is now being shared linking it to the bye-elections in Kudni, Bihar that BJP was distributing alcohol before the bye-elections.
