A video is being shared on social media claiming it shows visuals of an Ireland Minister expressing his support to Palestine and accusing Israel of violating international laws on a daily basis.

On reverse image search of the screenshots of the video, a video with similar visuals was found published on the official YouTube channel of Ireland’s Sinn Féin Party’s official YouTube channel on 13 July 2023, with the description, “Why should another generation of Palestinians be made wait for the world to act? – Matt Carthy TD.” Matt Carthy is a TD for the Cavan Monaghan constituency and the Sinn Féin Party’s official spokesperson on Foreign Affairs and Defence. The statements made by Matt Carthy in the Oireachtas, the bicameral parliament of Ireland, can be seen here.

Lately, Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Michael Martin, announced to the media that the country remains committed to providing humanitarian aid to Palestine amid the ongoing conflict. However, the video shared in the post is old and unrelated to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Video 2:

Another video is being shared on social media claiming it is the recent visuals of Abu Obaidah, a spokesperson of Izzuddin Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, thanking the Iran government for providing weapons, money, and other equipment for attacking Israel.

On reverse image search of the screenshots of the video, a video showing similar visuals was found published by the ‘Aljazeera Mubasher’ news site on 15 December 2014, with the title, “A festival in Gaza on the anniversary of the launch of the Hamas movement.” The Arabic description of the video states, “Al-Qassam Brigades commemorates the launch of the Hamas movement with a popular festival and a military parade.”

An article published by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 17 December 2014, included the transcript of the military wing spokespersons’ comments. The statement in the report states- “At the end of the military parade (Sunday, 14 December), Abu Ubaida, spokesman for Hamas’ armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, gave a speech in which he praised Iran, thanking it for the weapons, funds, missiles and other aid which contributed to Hamas “victory” in the conflict with Israel this summer (Operation Protective Edge).
