An internet search with the relevant keywords led us to the original video posted by ‘PTV analysis’ on 06 September 2022. The title of the video says, “Virat Kohli Press Conference, Asia cup 2022”. In this video, Kohli talks to media after Team India lost to Pakistan in Asia Cup 2022. ANI’s Video of this press meet (05 September 2022) can be seen here.

Another video is being shared claiming Indian captain Rohit Sharma announced his retirement after the loss to England. However, this video is from the pre-match press conference before the semi-finals with England and has no announcement about his retirement.

In this video, Surya Kumar can be seen talking to fellow Indian players. A random gesture made by surya during this talk is falsely shared as him crying after the match.

Dhoni’s heart-breaking statement

Internet search with the relevant keywords led us to Indian express article featuring the same video published on 07 august 2019. The said video was uploaded on YouTube on 12 July 2019 with the title, “MS Dhoni Motivational speech”. In this video Dhoni can be seen advising the viewers to focus on the process rather than the result.

According to Economic Times, Rohit Sharma was seen in tears after the humiliating loss while coach Rahul Dravid consoled him. We have gone through all the social media profiles of MS Dhoni, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, but couldn’t find any statements by him regarding the semi-final match. Also, there were no media reports about Dhoni bursting into tears and analysing the performance of team India. However, according to Zee News, #Dhoni was trending after the match as fans remember recalled the team India’s achievement under his captaincy.
