A video is being shared with the claim that it shows a Rafale Fighter plane that India is procuring from France. Let’s analyze the authenticity of that claim.

The archived version of the post can be found here.

Claim: Video of Rafale Fighter plane India bought from France.

Fact: Video shows an F-16QQ turbine jet operated by Quique Somenzini of ‘Flex Innovations’, a company working on aircraft control systems, toys, electronics and RC hobby products. So, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

In 2016, India has signed an agreement with France for the purchase of 36 Rafale fighter jets and on 09 October 2019, India has got its first Rafale jet from France.

But, a video is being shared with the claim that it shows the Rafel jet that India is procuring from France. When that video was fragmented and those keyframes were subjected to Yandex reverse image search technique, the search results were obtained about ‘F-16QQ’.

When searched on Google with keywords ‘F-16QQ’, many search results were obtained. A search result had a longer version of the posted 4 minutes 50 seconds clip and was found to be uploaded on YouTube by a channel ‘Flex innovations’. The video had the description ‘Quique flies the F-16QQ on a hot day in August, Venice, FL!’.

When searched on Google for details about Flex Innovations, it was found that it is a company working on aircraft control systems, toys, electronics, and RC hobby products. On the jet flying in the video, the logo of the company can be seen.

On the company’s website, the product F-16QQ turbine jet can be found and the product can be purchased by ordering it online.

In the original video at 6:19 duration, the jet can be seen operated with remote control by Quique(Quique Somenzini), a co-founder of that company.

To conclude, it isn’t a Rafale Fighter jet that is performing the stunts in the video.
