0

Many social media posts are claiming that Pakistani cricketer Yasir Shah had died in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger jet crash at Karachi. On 22 May 2020, an aeroplane carrying 91 passengers and 8 crew members from Lahore to Karachi crashed in a residential area near Jinnah international airport minutes before landing. Pakistan officials have confirmed that 97 people have lost their lives, while two persons (Muhammad Zubair and Zafar Masud) survived the crash. The list of all passengers on the ill-fated flight can be seen here. In the list, there was no passenger with the name ‘Yasir Shah’. Also, Yasir Shah had tweeted about his safety and prayed for all those who lost their lives in the crash. The archived version of his tweet can be seen here. So, the claim about the death of Yasir Shah in the recent plane crash is FALSE.
