Morphed tweets shared as BJP’s reply calling journalist Deepak Chaurasia a Dalali

A screenshot of purported tweets made by journalist Deepak Chaurasia and BJP is being shared on social media claiming that BJP referred to Deepak Chaurasia as a dalali (broker) in reply to the latter’s tweet stating, “Trump haar sakta hai tho phir bhajapa kyu nahin” (when translated to English. “If Trump can lose, then why not BJP”). The purported reply tweet of BJP states Deepak Chaurasia as a dalali who took money from them and supported opposition parties. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: BJP’s tweet calling journalist Deepak Chaurasia a dalali.

Fact: The image shared in the post shows morphed tweets of Deepak Chaurasia and the BJP. Neither Deepak Chaurasia nor BJP had made those tweets. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

When searched to check whether journalist Deepak Chaurasia had made any such tweets wishing for the loss of the BJP, we could not find any such tweets on the Twitter handle of Deepak Chaurasia.

The username on Deepak Chaurasia’s purported tweet in the post shows “@DChaurasiya2312”. But the original username on Deepak Chaurasia’s official Twitter handle is “@DChaurasia2312”. There is no Twitter account with the username “@DChaurasiya2312”. On comparing a normal tweet of Deepak Chaurasia with that of the tweet shared in the post, it is confirmed that the tweets shared in the post were morphed ones.

Also, the BJP did not make any tweet calling Deepak Chaurasia a dalali supporting opposition parties after taking money from them. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the image shared in the shows morphed tweets of Deepak Chaurasia and the BJP.

To sum it up, morphed tweets are being shared as BJP’s reply calling journalist Deepak Chaurasia a dalali.
