Kangana Ranaut did not tweet suggesting people with low oxygen levels to use Cow for mouth-to-mouth Resuscitatation

A post accompanying a purported tweet by actress Kangana Ranaut in which she suggested that people with low levels of oxygen can try mouth-to-mouth resuscitation with the cow as they exhale oxygen. The purported tweet also shared a representational image of a man doing the same.  Through this article, let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Image of Kangana Ranaut’s tweet suggesting people with low levels of oxygen to try mouth-to-mouth resuscitation with the cow.

Fact: Kangana Ranaut did not tweet suggesting people with low levels of oxygen to try mouth-to-mouth resuscitation with the cow. Kangana, through a series of tweets, responded to the image of the viral tweet in her name terming it as fake. Many news agencies have also reported her response to the viral image. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

Search on Kangana Ranaut’s official Twitter handle did not yield any such tweet as claimed in the post. However, we found a couple of tweets on her timeline through which she commented upon the viral tweet which is doing rounds on her name. Through these tweets, we can infer that the purported tweet was not actually made by her but was digitally created by a miscreant. Kangan’s tweets can be seen here and here.

Google search with relevant keywords led us to a news article by Hindustan Times which reported Kangana’s reaction to the alleged tweet which is doing rounds on her name. Another news article that reported Kangana’s response to the viral tweet attributed to her can be read here.

However, earlier on 21 April 2021, Kangana Ranaut has shared the video of a woman demonstrating a breathing exercise for those who are feeling low levels of oxygen. Kangana suggested those who are feeling low levels of oxygen try this exercise.

As far as the technical aspect of the tweet is concerned, generally, when we share an image on Twitter via mobile or web, the image is represented with curved edges. However, the viral tweet has an image with straight edges.

As far as the image of the man kissing the cow is concerned, reverse image search of the photo led us to multiple old news articles which published the same image. The articles identify the man as Vijay Prasanna from Gujarat. These news article can be read here and here

To sum it up, Kangana did not tweet suggesting people with low levels of oxygen to try mouth-to-mouth resuscitation with the cow.
