A post with a photo collage of a man with and without injuries is doing rounds on social media with a claim that the man, Chandraboss, an RSS worker from Kerala is thrashed by members of Communist Party for attending a Muslim wedding. Through this article, let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Fact: Through reverse image, search we found that the images of the man are actually from a Malayalam web series which is on YouTube. Also, the photo collage in the post is picked from a memes website. The image has nothing to do with Muslim marriage or the Communist Party. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Reverse image search of the photo led us to ‘manlayalamplainmemes.download’, which is a repository of memes related to actors and movies. The photo collage in the post is actually picked from this website.
Taking a cue from here, we ran a search on YouTube with the keyword ‘Karikku’ and found a YouTube channel with this name. In a video titled ‘Smile Please!’ which is uploaded on 18 August 2020 on this channel, we can see the same man in the post. The man in orange kurta without injuries in post can be seen in the video in the same attire. Whereas the man with injuries in a blue kurta in the post can be seen for a split second in the last frame of the video but in a different angle. The name of the man in this particular video is Chandraboss. With this, we can say that images in the post are not from a real incident but taken from a web series and this has nothing to do with the Communist party.
From the information related to the cast of this particular video, we found that the name of the actor is Arjun Ratan. An image similar to the one in the collage where he is seen without injuries is shared by him on his Instagram account. However, it is worth mentioning that neither in the original images (Insta & meme) nor in the video we can see the actor sporting a saffron tilak on his face.
Initially, these images from the series were morphed and shared on social media with an RSS spin. Now this photoshopped image which carried the RSS connection is trending sarcastically on twitter with “ #JusticeforChandraboss” hashtag ridiculing the RSS narrative associated with the images.
To sum it up, the images from a Malayalam web series are falsely shared as RSS worker from Kerala is thrashed by members of Communist Party for attending a Muslim wedding.
