Claim: Government of India providing Rupees 1.5 Lakh per COVID-19 patient to every municipality.

Fact: Press Information Bureau (PIB) through a tweet clarified that no such announcement was made by Government of India. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On google search using the keywords ‘Government of India providing 1.5 lakh rupees to every municipality for each COVID-19 patient’, we did not find any information about the existence of such scheme by the central government. But we found a clarification tweet posted by Press Information Bureau (PIB) on the same subject. PIB in their tweet clarified that no such announcement of providing 1.5 lakh rupees per COVID-19 patient to every municipality was made by Government Of India.

To sum it up, there is no announcement of providing 1.5 Lakh rupees per COVID-19 patient to every municipality from Government of India.
