Old photo shared as imposter dressed in Sikh attire after participating in farmers’ protest.

A photo is being shared on social media with a claim that it shows an imposter dressed in Sikh attire who participated in farmers’ protest but forgot to remove his headgear during the namaz in a mosque. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Photo of an imposter dressed in Sikh attire doing namaz after participating in farmers’ protest.

Fact: The posted photo is old. The photo is being shared on the internet at least from January 2016. It is not related to the current farmers’ protest. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When the photo was run through Google Reverse Image Search, the same photo was found to be posted in 2016 on the ‘Sikh Awareness’ website. From the photo, it can be seen that the photo was posted on Facebook.

When we searched on Facebook with keywords and time filter, it was found that many people have posted the same photo in January 2016. So, the photo is not related to current farmers’ protest. No credible information was found regarding the man in the photo.

To sum it up, at least 5-year-old photo is shared as an imposter dressed in Sikh attire doing namaz after participating in farmers’ protest.
