Moved by the support and the significant turnaround, Hooda was in tears. The video is unrelated to the Congress party’s loss in the recent 2024 Haryana Assembly elections. Hence, the claim made in the post is Misleading.
A reverse image search of the viral video’s keyframes led us to a video uploaded on 04 June 2024 on the YouTube channel “Karnal Breaking News.” The video is captioned, “Deepender Hooda had tears in his eyes after seeing the crowd. Deepender Hooda won by more than 3 lakh votes.”
Taking a clue from the description, a Google keyword search led us to media reports (here and here) from June 2024. Additionally, we also found a tweet by ANI from 04 June 2024, showing similar footage. The caption reads, “Victory celebrations are taking place at the home of Rohtak Congress candidate Deepender Singh Hooda.” This confirmed that the video is not from the recent Assembly elections in Haryana.
