A video (here, here and here) of Indian actor Allu Arjun waving to a crowd has been gaining traction on social media. This footage is being shared and portrayed as visuals of Allu Arjun campaigning for the Indian National Congress party. We will fact-check this claim through this article.

An archived version of this can be seen here.

Claim: Allu Arjun is seen campaigning for the Indian National Congress during the 2024 general elections.

Fact: The video in question is actually from August 2022, when Allu Arjun served as Grand Marshal at the India Day Parade in New York. Hence, the claim in the post is False.

The video shows Allu Arjun donning a stole on which ‘Grand Marshal’ is written. We conducted a Google search with related phrases, including ‘Grand Marshal,’ tracing the video (here, here and here) back to an event from August 2022. At this time, Allu Arjun was participating in the India Day Parade in New York.

During this parade, organized by the Indian Diaspora in the US, Allu Arjun was honoured as the Grand Marshal. The footage from this event is being falsely circulated as evidence of his support for the Congress party.

Further online searches failed to provide any evidence of Allu Arjun actively endorsing or campaigning for the Congress party.

To sum up, the video in question does not depict Allu Arjun campaigning for the Congress party rather shows his participation in the India Day Parade in August 2022.
