Fact: Al Kabeer group was started in 1970s by Subberwal and Ghulam Shaikh families with 50:50 partnership. Later when the group expanded, Ghulamuddin M. Sheikh become the owner of the Indian company Al Kabeer Exports Pvt. Ltd. The company’s slaughterhouse in Hyderabad is under the charge of Asif Ghulamuddin and Arshad Siddiqui. Moreover, the company’s website says that it doesn’t slaughter cows, bulls, and bullocks, but just buffaloes. Also, Atul Subberwal is the Managing director for SAHAR Enterprises of Al Kabeer Group. Hence the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
We first searched the internet about this company and came across an old Economic Times article published in 2007. According to this, this company was started in 1970s by Subberwal and Ghulam Shaikh familes with a 50:50 partnership.
According to the company’s website, the Group evolved into a multi-dimensional, multi product business with offices, processing units and cold storages in all over the world. They also published a clarification stating that Al Kabeer Exports Pvt. Ltd., a part of Al Kabeer group, is an Indian Company which exports mutton and beef from India is owned by Ghulamuddin M.Shaikh.
The Hyderabad slaughterhouse operations are under the charge of Asif Ghulamuddin and Arshad Siddiqui. The company doesn’t slaughter cows, bulls, and bullocks but just slaughters buffaloes in accordance with local statutes and Government of India’s export policy.
