Fact: This is a scripted video posted on a Facebook page named ‘Public post 24’, on which many such scripted videos, according to their page’s intro, are made with the aim of spreading awareness. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
To check the veracity of the viral claim, we performed a basic keyword search on the internet, leading us to a Facebook post on a page named ‘Public post 24.’ This post, which also contained the viral video, was posted on 7 January 2024 with a post description in Hindi that translates to ‘Made gas from cow dung and eno and lit it in 2 minutes.
While going through this page, we found that the page’s intro description reads, ‘All the videos posted on this page are fully scripted, made with the aim of spreading awareness.’ This page contains multiple such scripted videos. This clarifies that a scripted video is being falsely shared as a real incident.
Additionally, we discovered a few videos that explain how such biogas torches are made by mixing pieces of Calcium Carbide in the water.
