A video is circulating on social media that claims to show Indian journalist Rajat Sharma reporting on a potential war between India and Bangladesh, citing border incidents, drone deployments, and political developments. Let’s verify the truth behind the video in this article.

Claim: The video shows Rajat Sharma reporting on a potential India-Bangladesh war, citing border incidents, drone activity, and political developments.
Fact: The video does not show Rajat Sharma reporting on a potential India-Bangladesh war. The original Aaj Ki Baat episode from 09 July 2025 on India TV features him covering stories such as a “Love Jihad” case in Indore, political unrest in Bihar, an assault by Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad, a bridge collapse in Gujarat, and the cancellation of renovation tenders for Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s residence. Nowhere does he mention any discussion of India-Bangladesh tensions or war. Moreover, AI detection tools flagged the viral clip as 91.5% AI-generated, confirming it is a deepfake. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
To verify the claim, we searched online using relevant keywords but found no credible reports confirming that Rajat Sharma made such a statement or reported on a potential India-Bangladesh war. While reports (here, here) from September 2025 mention Bangladesh’s interim leader Muhammad Yunus accusing India of supporting Sheikh Hasina, whom he alleged was responsible for killing young protesters, and blaming India for obstructing SAARC progress and opposing Bangladesh’s student-led movement, no recent reports indicate any border tensions between the two countries.
We then conducted a reverse image search of keyframes, which led us to a news report published on the official YouTube channel of India TV on 09 July 2025. The report features Rajat Sharma, wearing the same attire as in the viral video, during his show Aaj Ki Baat. In the episode, he covered multiple stories, including a “Love Jihad” case in Indore, political unrest in Bihar, an assault by Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad, a deadly bridge collapse in Gujarat, and the cancellation of renovation tenders for Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s residence. Nowhere in the report was Rajat Sharma seen talking about a potential India-Bangladesh war.
We noticed that the lip sync in the viral video does not match the audio. We then ran the video through the Hive AI detection tool, which confirmed that it contains AI-generated or deepfake content. Hive flagged it with an aggregate score of 91.5% AI-generated, confirming the video is fake.

We also found that the extended version of the viral video was uploaded on a YouTube channel named The Real Report on 29 September 2025, titled “Is India Ready for War? | Is India Ready for War with Bangladesh 2025?” Upon reviewing the channel, we observed that it frequently posts similar videos using an AI-generated voice resembling journalist Rajat Sharma, which can be seen here, here, and here.
To sum up, an AI-generated video falsely shows Rajat Sharma reporting a potential India-Bangladesh war.
