Fact: The viral video is a simulation from a game and does not depict a real incident. It was uploaded by a TikTok user who frequently posts plane crash videos from GTA 5. While it is true that a Piper PA-31A aircraft crashed onto a highway on 12 December 2024 along the service road of a highway in Victoria, Texas, this video is unrelated to that incident. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
To verify this claim, we conducted a Google search and found that a Piper PA-31A twin-engine propeller aircraft crashed on 12 December 2024 along the service road of a highway in Victoria, Texas. However, the visuals of the Texas crash did not match those in the viral video.
Further, we found no reports of an Emirates flight crashing on a highway. Given the incident’s significance, it would have garnered considerable media attention; however, no reports of such an accident were found.
We then conducted a reverse image search of the keyframes from the viral video, which led us to the same video (archived) posted on TikTok on 03 October 2024. The caption read: “Plane Crashes on Road #usa_tiktok #uktiktok #plane #planecrash #planes #airport #foryoupage #for, ” predating the Victoria highway crash incident in Texas.
We observed that this TikTok handle frequently posts such videos, and his bio mentions that he uploads GTA 5 GAME videos.
