A video going viral on social media (here, here, and here) shows two gas tankers on fire, followed by a blast. The post claims that the video is from Jaipur, where an accident occurred on 06 February 2025. Let’s verify the claim made in the post through this article.

Claim: A video shows two gas tankers exploding in Jaipur on 06 February 2025.
Fact: The viral video is from a fire that broke out in gas tankers at a pump on the Indus Highway near Kot Chatta, Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakistan, on 28 January 2025. The incident killed one person and injured rescue workers. However, no credible reports confirm a gas tanker explosion in Jaipur on 06 February 2025. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
An internet search found no credible reports of gas tankers exploding in Jaipur on 6 February 2025. However, a tragic accident occurred that day on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway near Dudu, where a car collided with a roadways bus, killing eight people. No reports of a gas tanker blast were found.
We then conducted a reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video, which led us to a news report (archived) published on the official YouTube channel of 24 News HD on 28 January 2025. The report featured the same visuals and stated that the video is from Dera Ghazi Khan district in Punjab province, Pakistan.
We used relevant keywords and found multiple reports from Pakistani media reporting the same issue (here, here, and, here) (archived here, here, and here). According to the reports, a fire broke out in gas tankers parked at a pump on the Indus Highway near Kot Chatta, Dera Ghazi Khan, killing one person and injuring rescue workers. The blaze later spread to other nearby tankers before being brought under control after six hours by fire teams from Dera Ghazi Khan, Jampur, and Rajanpur. Timely evacuation helped prevent major casualties, while a hotel and petrol pump in the area suffered partial damage.

To sum up, a gas tanker explosion video from Pakistan is falsely shared as an incident from Jaipur.
