Fact: The video was clipped from a larger video when for a few seconds Joe Biden had put his head down. A closer look at Joe Biden’s hands shows him moving his thumbs while the Israeli Prime Minister spoke; also, Biden responds immediately after the Israeli PM ends his speech. On 27 August 2021, Israel Prime Minister met US President Joe Biden in the Oval Office of the White House. The video was taken from this meeting they had in the White House. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
When reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video, a larger YouTube video with similar visuals was found. The YouTube video uploaded on 28 August 2021 by the Official White House YouTube channel was titled, ‘President Biden Holds a Bilateral Meeting with Naftali Bennett, Prime Minister of Israel’. The 32-second viral video was clipped from 12:17 of the over-13-minute YouTube video. Immediately after the Israeli Prime Minister ends his speech, one can see that Joe Biden responds to him from 12:49 of the YouTube video.
A closer look at Joe Biden’s hands shows him moving his thumbs while the Israeli Prime Minister spoke, indicating that he was not sleeping when his head was down. The same video of the meeting can be seen on the Israeli PM’s YouTube channel and on C-SPAN’s website.
