Claim: Photo showing the visual of a road with potholes in Uttar Pradesh.

Fact: The photo shared in the post shows the condition of the Ujjain-Agra-Kota national highway in Madhya Pradesh. This photo was shot near the Ghosla bus stand in the Ujjain district. This photo has nothing to do with the Uttar Pradesh. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On reverse image search of the photo shared in the post, a similar photo was found in the ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ Facebook post published on 18 August 2021. They reported it as the visuals of potholes on the Ujjain- Agra-Kota National Highway in Madhya Pradesh. The National Indian Youth Congress (IYC) President Srinivas BV tweeted the same photo with a similar description on  18 August 2021.

Reporting the complete details of the photo, the ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ news website had published an article. This photo was reportedly shot near the Ghosla bus stand in Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh. According to the article, the 52 km road from Ujjain to Tanodiya was filled with around 427 small and big potholes. Recently, several news websites published articles reporting the potholes situation in the Uttar Pradesh state. They can be seen here and here. But the photo shared in the post shows the potholes in Madhya Pradesh, not from Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, when a potholed road in Bihar was shared as the visuals of the pathetic road condition in Uttar Pradesh, FACTLY published a fact-check article. It can be seen here.

To sum it up, this road with potholes is from Madhya Pradesh, not from the Uttar Pradesh state.
