As per the post, Israel’s UN envoy ripped apart a 20-page notice from the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) while delivering his speech at the UN podium. Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, this video is going viral on social media. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Recent video of Israel’s envoy to the UN tearing up a Human Rights Council report against Israel at the UN General Assembly.

Fact: The post shared a 2021 video of Gilad Erdan, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, tearing up a UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) annual report during an address at the UN General Assembly. The video shared in the post is old and has nothing to do with the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

When we searched for the video using relevant keywords, the same video was found in an article published by ‘The Times of Israel’ on 30 October 2021. They reported that Gilad Erdan, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, tore up the UN Human Rights annual report during his address at the UN General Assembly podium on 29 October 2021.

During his speech at the UN General Assembly, Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, tore up a report by the UN Human Rights Council to demonstrate his strong disapproval of the organization’s perceived bias against Israel.
