Claim: ‘Yakumi Plus Effervescent tablets’ are FDA approved and are effective in treating acid reflux and other gastrointestinal diseases.
Fact: The product description of Yakumi Plus Effervescent tablets says, ‘This product is not a medicine and does not have the effect of replacing medicine’. Also, Yakumi Plus tablet is not FDA approved. Hence the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
First, we searched the database of FDA-Approved drugs, but couldn’t find any medicine by the name ‘Yakumi plus Effervescent tablets’.
We then searched for the Yakumi Plus product online and found that a box of 48 tablets is being sold for a price of around ₹2700 (~790,000 Vietnamese Dong) on e- commerce website Lazada. As per the description, this product is manufactured in Vietnam and most importantly, the precaution says, “This product is not a medicine and does not have the effect of replacing medicine”.
