A few other social media users who are sharing this video claim it as one of the violent attacks that are taking place on daily basis against minorities in India. The video shows two goons hitting a person’s leg with a hammer and rods. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Fact: This incident took place recently near Bhadkal lake in Faridabad, Haryana. The victim and the accused persons in this violent attack, both belong to the Hindu religion. This incident has nothing to do with persons of the Muslim community. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
On reverse image search of the screenshots in the video, a video with similar visuals was found published on the ‘Khabar Faridabad’ news channel Facebook page. This news channel reported it as visuals of a mob attacking a bike-riding youth with hammer and rods at Bhadkal Chowk in Faridabad, Haryana. Sharing the same video, several local news websites reported that the incident had taken place in Faridabad.
When we searched for more details using these keywords, we found that ‘India Today’ published an article, reporting the complete details of this violent attack in Faridabad. According to this article, Manish, a Faridabad local was travelling on his bike when a mob of goons stopped and attacked him with a hammer and rods at Section 21-D Bhadkal Lake Chowk area in Faridabad. This incident reportedly took place on 06 December 2021. Manish was left with multiple injuries and a broken leg after this attack. This article reported that the accused persons were Lalit, Pradeep, and Sachin. Faridabad Police reportedly arrested the two accused Lalit and Pradeep on the spot. An old personal enmity between Manish and accused Pradeep reportedly led to this attack.

This FIR mentioned the victim as Manish Chandila, son of Mukesh Kumar. The names of the accused as mentioned in the FIR are Pradeep, Lalit, Lala, and Ankur Bhainsla. Neither the victim nor any of the accused involved in this attack belongs to the Muslim community.
