A video of a hoarding falling on people who were travelling on a road is being shared widely on social media with a claim that the incident took place at Mehdipatnam flyover in Hyderabad, Telangana. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of a hoarding falling on people at Mehdipatnam flyover in Hyderabad.

Fact: The incident in the video did not take place in Hyderabad or India. It took place in Karachi (Pakistan). News agencies in Pakistan have reported than two people were injured in the accident. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When the screenshots of the video were run through Yandex Reverse Image Search, the same video was found to be uploaded by multiple users on social media with the description that the incident in the video took place in Karachi (Pakistan).

So, when we searched with relevant keywords, many news articles published by prominent news agencies in Pakistan regarding the incident in the video were found in the search results. In the articles, it can be read that the incident happened in Karachi. It has also been reported that two people were injured in the accident and Karachi Commissioner’s Office has directed to remove billboards in the city. The news articles can be read here and here.
