Video being shared as ‘Rohingya Muslim receiving a pension in disabled quota’ is not related to India

A post with a video is being widely shared on Facebook with the claim that it shows Rohingya Muslims who illegally infiltrated into India and receiving a pension in disabled quota have been exposed. Let’s analyze the authenticity of the claim in the post.

Claim: Video of Rohingya Muslims who illegally infiltrated into India and receiving a pension in disabled quota being exposed.

Fact: The video is from 2009 documentary of a Pakistani journalist exposing fake beggars in Pakistan. So, the claim is FALSE.

When searched on YouTube with the text ‘Fake beggar exposed’, many search results were obtained. The video in the post was found among those search results. But no information was found from that video. When that video is fragmented using ‘InVid’ plugin and keyframes were subjected to reverse image technique, the complete video of the one posted is found in the search results. That video was uploaded on 25 January 2009, and had the title ‘Rachyal Reports – Beggers (1)’. Arshad Rachyal is the former President of ‘Pakistan Press Club UK’. In that video, Rachyal can be seen exposing beggars faking as disabled. From the description, it was found that the video was shot in Pakistan. To sum it up, a video from Pakistan is being shared as ‘Rohingya Muslims who illegally infiltrated into India and receiving a pension in disabled quota have been exposed’.
