A screenshot of a tweet purportedly made by the United States President Joe Biden is being shared on social media stating that Joe Biden addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a world leader while thanking him for his greetings on him becoming the 46th US President. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Joe Biden’s tweet addressing  PM Narendra Modi as a world leader.

Fact: This tweet is not posted from the account of the new United States President Joe Biden. Joe Biden did not respond to the greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi till now. The user name of the account that made this tweet is different from the one of Joe Biden’s official Twitter handle. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On 20 January 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted his congratulations to Joe Biden for being sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. As of now, Joe Biden has not responded to this tweet from Narendra Modi. No such tweet was found in the tweets made from the personal and official Twitter handles of Joe Biden.

On observing carefully, it is found that the username visible on the tweet is different from the user name (@JoeBiden) of Joe Biden’s personal Twitter handle. Further, one can notice that there is no verified symbol on the Twitter account mentioned in the post.

To sum it up, this tweet addressing PM Narendra Modi as a world leader is not posted from the official account of the US President Joe Biden, but from a parody account.
