A video is being shared on social media claiming it as recent visuals of Gulf companies sending back migrant Indian employees from their countries. In the wake of several Islamic countries’ expressing their displeasure over the BJP spokesperson’s recent comments on Prophet Muhammed, this post claims that the companies in Gulf countries have started firing their Indian employees and sending back them to India. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

The archived version of the post can be seen here.

Claim: Recent video of Gulf companies sending back migrant Indian employees from their countries.

Fact: The post shared a three-month-old video of migrant workers leaving the ‘Redco International’ company in Doha, Qatar. In March 2022, workers in the ‘Redco International’ company organized a strike demanding to return their withheld salary. Following the protest, the ‘Redco International’ provided tickets for them to fly to their countries. This video has nothing to do current events surrounding BJP spokesperson’s recent comments on Prophet Mohammed. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When you observe the video carefully, one can hear that the person speaking in the video mentions the name ‘Redco International’. When we searched for this video with relevant keywords on the internet, we found a recent Facebook post that shared the same video informing it as a three-month-old incident that took place at Redco International company in Doha, Qatar. This Facebook user mentioned that the workers were leaving the company because it is running in losses.

When we searched for more sources, we found the same video published on the ‘QN Qatar’ YouTube channel. This YouTube channel published this video on 29 March 2022, with a description that the ‘Redco International’ in Qatar had provided free tickets to their workers to fly to their countries. In March 2022, workers in the ‘Redco International’ held a strike demanding to return their three months withheld salary. Following the protest, ‘Redco International’ provided tickets to fly to their countries. A few other old videos showing the workers strike at the ‘Redco International’ can be seen here, here and here.

Lately, there are news reports that the supermarkets in Arab countries have boycotted Indian products expressing their anguish over BJP spokesperson’s comments on Prophet Muhammed. The South Asian Journal and a few other media websites have reported that Arabs have started removing Indian Hindu migrant workers from their companies. But there are no other credible reports about this.

To sum it up, an unrelated old video is shared as the recent visuals of Gulf companies sending back Indian migrant worker.
